Amiibo är namnet på figurerna som genom NFC (Near Field Mario Kart 8 kan man använda amiibos för att låsa upp dräkter för mii-karaktären I Mario Kart 8 och Hyrule Warriors kan man till exempel få tillgång till nya kläder respektive vapen med hjälp av Amiibo-figurer, och i Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Lägga till en Amiibo till din Nintendo Switch är en liten bit av arbete.
